What this newsletter is:

I usually write about two areas that matter to me: how we build technology, and how we build a better society.

Sometimes that’s product design and AI. Sometimes it’s public policy and government innovation. I look at them together because they’re connected in my mind. You get all of it.

What to expect

Clear, focused takes. I’ll call it like I see it. Agree or push back, I welcome both. I try to publish weekly, though I’m admittedly bursty. Articles stay tight; I’ll link out when there’s more to dig into.

Who I am

I’ve spent my career building products at Google, Meta, and startups. I started Google research’s AI Design team, led design at Meta’s AI Research lab (FAIR), and have designed and shipped products used by hundreds of millions of people. And have done a bunch of other crap too.

I write about what I’ve learned and what I think matters.
